Manchester United vs Barcelona: Europa League Team News

Manchester United will aim to advance to the next round of the Europa League when they play Barcelona at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Recently, both teams have put on impressive performances in their respective leagues, as Erik Ten Hag's team competes as title contenders while Barcelona remains the clear favourite to win the La Liga title.

Before they face off in yet another feisty match, let's take a look at the teams for both sides.

Manchester United Team News:

Marcus Rashford is set to become the main man for Man United after a string of fine line of form after the World Cup. He continued his top form from Barcelona into the Premier League game against Leicester City as he found the net twice and posed a constant threat to the opposition. Without any doubt, he will be again in the lineup playing in a more central role upfront.

Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek remain as the two long term absentees through injury.

World Cup winner Lisandro Martinez and new signing Marcel Sabitzer will return after serving a suspension in the first leg against Barca. Raphael Varane and Tyrell Malacia are also expected to back on the starting lineup after getting rested during the weekend.

Scott McTominay returned from injury and featured in the game against The Foxes. He fared quite well in a holding midfield role and so he is expected to get some minutes against Barcelona.

Harry Maguire, Antony and Anthony Martial remain doubtful for the match.

Barcelona Team News:

Midfielder Sergio Busquets returned to the squad but is a doubt against United after being rested in the 2-0 win versus Cadiz.

Pedri and Ousmane Dembele are out for this fixture with injuries.

Young prospect Gavi won’t feature as he picked up a suspension in the first-leg.

Lewandowski is back scoring, while Torres regained some of his old form over the weekend, so both players are expected to start at Old Trafford.
